OTTAWA Expect a Canada Day like Parliament Hill has never seen and massive enthusiastic crowds across the country when Prince William and his new bride visit Canada this summer Heritage Minister James Moore says. This royal visit will be on a size and scale like nothing Canada has seen perhaps since the royal visit that happened in 1986 for the opening of Expo 86 in Vancouver when Prince Charles and Princess Diana visited he said Monday shortly after the tour itinerary of the newly married Duke and Duchess of Cambridge was announced. They wind up their Canadian tour in Calgary from July 6 to 8 where they will attend the opening of the Calgary Stampede. This is the third royal tour in Canada in the last two years following Queen Elizabeths visit last summer and Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles tour in November 2009.When the Queen visited also taking part in Canada Day celebrations in Ottawa 18 journalists from the United Kingdom accompanied her Moore said but 85 foreign journalists have already registered to join William and Kates Canadian tour highlighting the enormous interest in the newlyweds.Canada Day on the Hill is going to be massive theres no question about it Moore said.

If global warming gets bad enough Americans will be flooding into Canada. Russia will be Canada's rival as Siberia becomes like the Great Plains were in the US, and both nations duke it out over the Arctic.

And China can't be a superpower while its coastal cities flood and the Gobi Desert enlarges.

Neither China nor the US can be a superpower with global warming getting that bad. Both nations should try to stop it. They could.

Each event will be designed so that everyone regardless of age ability or cycling experience will be able to take part and discover how easy and enjoyable it can be to travel by bike. Specialized have been active in youth cycling development since the companys founding in 1974 by contributing to programs that positively impact young people of all ages.

For the fifth-straight year Vancouver has been named the best city in the world to live. And two other Canadian centres Toronto and Calgary cracked the top 10 in the annual survey by the Economist Intelligence Unit which was released Monday.Toronto and Calgary came in at fourth and fifth respectively in the listing which was based on 30 factors across five broad categories stability health care culture and environment education and infrastructure. Vancouver received a score of 98. Vancouver remains at the top of the ranking a position that can only have been cemented by the successful hosting of the 2010 Winter Olympics and Paralympics which provided a boost to the infrastructure and culture and environment categories the survey s authors wrote in their summary. Only petty crime presents any difficulties for Vancouver although this would be a shortfall of any such location.

Hi Kate,

I've just set up a travel writing contest for fiction and non-fiction. It's international, so perhaps you could mention it somewhere, or maybe tweet it: www.thetravelwritingcontest.com

Thanks!
